Fantasy Broadway on the Roof
Nanjing
Fantasy Broadway on the Roof (奇幻天台百老汇) sits on the top floor of the Nanjing Culture and Art Center in the busy Xinjiekou district, right next to Deji Plaza. Jointly developed with Nanjing Culture & Investment, it transforms 1,200 square meters of previously unused rooftop space into a "spiritual oasis in the city."
The Space
It is China's first rooftop immersive performance cluster — six distinct venues under one project: the Frozen Time immersive theater, the Trick or Drink magic bar, the Living Roof café, a camping-style art space, an open-air rooftop stage, and an intimate close-up micro-theater.
The main theater's seating breaks with tradition: rows of different heights and styles are arranged into immersive interaction zones, "eat and drink" zones, and "watch from a distance" zones. The rooftop café covers 600 square meters and ranks among the most popular cafés in Nanjing, while the magic bar serves Broadway-style cocktails alongside up-close performances that use audience members' own belongings as props.
Productions
The first resident show, the immersive interactive magic play Hello, Duck (《你好鸭》), premiered on April 12, 2024. It is joined by a full repertoire:
