Research Overview

A loading concept for any standard card-to-wallet: the load happens during the natural gesture of taking the wallet out of the inner pocket.

It works with ordinary wallets, needs no magnets, and leaves the wallet fully examinable after the load.

Inspiration & Development

Original inspiration: our own L Wallet development work.

Our contribution: the re-timing of the load into the pocket-exit gesture, removing the separate loading motion.

Related prior work: Kort wallet concepts by previous creators; we credit the card-to-wallet tradition that made this idea obvious in hindsight.

Method & Technical Details

Show Method

Full method: the folded card rests in the outer edge of the inner pocket. When the hand enters the pocket, the thumb presses the card against the wallet's spine; as the wallet is drawn out, the card is carried flush against it and drops into the load position as the hand levels.

Practice tip: rehearse in front of a mirror at waist height; the gesture must stay natural from the spectator's view.

Results & Known Limitations

Known limitations: requires jacket with inner pocket; load angle matters on very soft wallets.
