The Performance

The magician displays a framed caricature of Max Maven holding a 4x4 number grid. A set of unique cutout "films" is introduced, each revealing a different set of numbers when placed over the grid.

The spectator is given absolute freedom:

Total Choice: They select any film from the stack.

Any Orientation: They can place the film over the grid in any direction—up, down, left, right, or even flipped.

Randomized Cards: A deck is shuffled (face-up into face-down), and the spectator picks any 6 cards.

The Impossible Climax

The sum of the 6 selected cards perfectly matches the total of the four numbers visible through the film on the frame. To top it off, the audience discovers that this exact outcome was hidden as a prediction within the artwork itself from the very beginning!
