Painting Card is a reissue of a classic gimmicked-card principle by Mickael Chatelain in collaboration with Gentlemen's Magic. The prop is finely crafted and built to last — the workmanship is clearly a step above the usual mass-produced gimmick. The mechanism itself is fairly retro: a repackaged take on a long-established card trick rather than something new.

The Effect & the Innovation

The effect is a visual change / color change on a single card: the artwork transforms instantly in a specific area of the face (center or corner). The reviewer compared it against Nojima's C3 (Center Corner Change) sleight and AD Jones' Twist gimmick. The visual is clean and direct, but the underlying method is well known in the community today, so the moment feels a little old-school and lacks a knockout "wow."

Effect — 3.5/5. The change is clear and visual, but the principle is common nowadays and reads a bit dated; it doesn't deliver a big surprise in 2026.

IMPOSSIBLE PREDICTION Two black Aces frame a face-down card representing a prediction that has been placed under a glass and visible from the very beginning.
