Based on Tommy Wonders Classic Shrinking Fan: A Visual Miracle of Stage Magic
(Best-seller at FISM Italy & Busan International Magic Festival)
Background & Craftsmanship
Faithfully recreated by professional magician Ethan Yip (Guangzhou, China), this lost stage masterpiece of Tommy Wonders returns. Inspired during his studies under Prof. Kim Hyunsoo in Korea—who described the effect as “a magical existence,”—Ethan researched The Books of Wonder, Wonder Material, and other sources, only to find no construction details. After years of trials, he finally restored it with full handcrafted artistry.
Three Core Selling Points
-
Innovative Visual Flow – Natural Vanish without Sleight of Hand
No repetitive opening/closing of the fan. With subtle tension control, the fan visibly shrinks “on its own,” cards can even be displayed smaller, then vanish completely—creating the feeling of “hands unmoving, magic happening.” -
Handcrafted Precision – 6 Hours per Set
Each unit is handmade by Ethan, from material selection to structural tuning, requiring about 6 hours. Not mass-produced—each is a collectible stage treasure with both performance and artistic value. -
Skill Advancement – Mastering Tension/Relax Control
The prop trains magicians in “tension/relax” rhythm, using off-beat timing to generate impact. This skill transfers to other acts, giving audiences the sense that “magic arrives before the magician moves.”
For Whom
