Canvas Deck by Jakey

The blank deck is a truly special kind of deck — deliberately "incomplete" (no card faces) — yet it hides far more uses than you would ever expect. Now introducing the Canvas Deck, created by Jakey and produced by Bacon Magic. With it, you carry paint named "imagination," and paint your spectator's thoughts onto a blank card!

First, you display both sides of a blank deck, then hand it out for inspection and shuffling, explaining that these are simply unprinted playing cards. You ask the spectator to imagine a card in their mind (say, the 3 of Hearts), spread the blank deck in an extremely clean manner, and cleanly remove one single card — the very card they are thinking of.

The spectator will naturally be puzzled. So you square the deck (no extra moves whatsoever) and ask the spectator, purely through imagination, to trace their thought-of card in the air with a finger. Finally, the spectator spreads the deck themselves — the blank card has grown a back! And the face is exactly the card they imagined: the 3 of Hearts!

Blank decks on the market vary greatly in handling feel due to differences in card stock and ink. To make every spread look elegant and smooth, the creator tested numerous blank decks and finally settled on the deck included in this prop — helping you bring out the very best in the effect.
